The monthly price is the number every gym advertises, and it's the least useful one. The numbers that actually decide what a membership costs you are the ones in the fine print: the enrollment fee, the annual fee, the processing fee, whether classes cost extra, and, above all, what it takes to leave. So we put all of it in one table.
A note on fairness: every club below serves real people well. If you want a pool and racquet courts, the larger clubs and the Y genuinely deliver them, and we'll tell you so in the table. What we'd ask is that you compare everything else too.

Competitor figures are from each club's own published pages, prices and terms, last checked July 2026; offers and policies change, so confirm current details with each club. VIVE figures are current. VIVE's one-time $50 enrollment fee can be reduced to $25 or waived entirely with a join bundle.
The row that matters most
Read the cancellation row twice. A membership you can leave anytime is a membership that has to earn you every single month. That's the deal we chose: no contract, no cancellation fee, no certified-letter scavenger hunt. If VIVE ever stops being worth $60 to you, leaving takes one message. We think that's exactly why people stay.
What $60 actually buys
Stack the included columns and the math changes: 40+ weekly classes, towel service, stocked locker rooms, the saunas, and two real one-on-one training sessions plus two small group classes to start you off. Bought separately at boutique rates, the coaching alone is worth more than your first two months. And it lives inside the club voted Best Gym two years running.*
"The cleanest and best managed athletic facility I've ever had the pleasure of joining."
VIVE memberThe best comparison is an hour on the floor
Tables are useful; feeling the difference is better. Come in on a weekday evening, take a class, sit in the sauna, and see if anyone knows your name by the time you leave. The 3-day pass is free, and if you're weighing a switch from another club, our switching gyms guide walks through exactly how to leave any gym cleanly.
